We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions and answers regarding what to do if you are unable to pay with a credit card on Rakuten Mobile or if you have an outstanding payment.

1. Q: Why can't I pay with my credit card?

A: This is due to incorrect input of card number or expiration date, exceeding the credit limit, expiration date, usage restrictions set by the card company, etc. Please double-check your card information and change to another card if necessary.

2. Q: What credit card brands can be used with Rakuten Mobile?

A: We accept major brands such as Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, and Diners Club.

3. Q: How do I change my credit card?

A: You can register new card information by logging in to "My Rakuten Mobile" and going to "Contract Plan" -> "Payment Method".

4. Q: What happens if my credit card expires?

A: Your payment may have failed and become unpaid. Please promptly register new card information and try again.

5. Q: How can I pay if I have an outstanding payment?

A: You can make payments via "My Rakuten Mobile" or the convenience store payment slip that was sent to you. If you do not pay by the due date, your service may be suspended.

6. Q: When will my service be suspended for non-payment?

A: If a certain period of time passes after the payment due date, your voice and communication services may be suspended. Please make your payment promptly.

7. Q: I received a notice of non-payment, but I have already paid. What should I do?

A: Sometimes notifications are mixed up due to system issues. If you continue to receive notifications after payment, please contact support.

8. Q: If a credit card withdrawal fails, will there be a second withdrawal?

A: As a general rule, there will be no re-withdrawals. You will need to make a separate payment procedure for the unpaid month's fee from the following month onwards.

9. Q: Can I pay the outstanding balance with Rakuten Points?

A: No. Rakuten Points can be used to pay regular monthly fees, but cannot be used towards unpaid fees.

10. Q: Will late payments affect my credit score?

A: If you are late with your payments for a long period of time, it may be recorded in the credit information agencies. Be careful to avoid late payments.

The author of this blog is a current Rakuten employee. In this blog, I will share my honest impressions of my mobile phone charges and signal conditions after switching from SoftBank, which I had been using since my student days, to Rakuten Mobile. I will share information on switching mobile phones (MNP), re-contracting, comparing mobile phones, mobile phone charges, model changes, campaigns, family discounts, and special offers. Currently, the employee referral campaign allows you to earn 14,000 points if you switch (MNP) and 11,000 points if you do not switch. Those who are re-contracting can also apply. Please make use of this opportunity to switch your smartphone or sign up for a new smartphone contract.
